BACKSTEEL ASSEMBLY DURING COOLING SYSTEM CHANGE AT LKAB, SVAPPAVAARA (2002)
LKAB executed a change of the cooling system at
the pelletizing plant in Svappavaara. We demolished the existing supporting beam
structure for the channel to and from the exhaust-furnace and built a new one.
We also constructed the catwalks and the service level.
The project employed 15 men at the most and lasted for five months. It required
around 100 tons of steel.
